Delco Championships

Delaware County Championships proved a tough fight for both teams– the girls team once again battling Strath Haven and the boys team going to head-to-head with Penncrest just a few days since their last race. With stunning races all around, the girls varsity team took Strath Haven by one point, winning the Delco Championship for the first time in 8 years. The boys varsity and JV teams tied Penncrest, with Penncrest winning the tie-breaker for each race. Girls JV dominated their race, with 8 Haverford runners in the top 10. Fantastic representation from our team in all races!

Last League Meet

HXC closed on their regular season with a race at Rose Tree against Penncrest and Ridley. The girls team had an easy victory against both teams, with the boys team battling against the undefeated Penncrest to lose one but win against Ridley. Both teams completed their seasons with a 9-2 record– bring on Central League Champs!

Carlisle Invitational

Our varsity girls team traveled to Carlisle, PA to race in a highly competitive meet against teams from around the state. It was a fast course, with all seven girls coming within seconds of their career PRs. It was a bit of a Districts preview for the team, who then got to celebrate their fast races with apple picking afterward!

Senior Night

HXC has 28 seniors graduating the team this year. At our last home meet of the season, the team gave it their all during the race in honor of those seniors who have added so much to team during their high school career.

The girls team dominated their race, giving up just two spots in the top 11 finishers. The boys team closed a win against Springfield and lost to Lower Merion by six points. At the end of the meet, each of our seniors received flowers, their senior blanket, and a speech from their fellow teammates. But we don’t say goodbye to them just yet– we still have one last league meet to go!

First Home Meet

Coopertown home meets almost always mean one thing: fast times. Both our girls and boys teams had a strong showing the first time around our home course, with the boys easily taking both wins against Strath Haven & Marple. The girls also took home a win against Marple and came second to Strath Haven by just 4 points. We’ll see some more great competition next week at Coopertown again against Lower Merion and Springfield!
