The Haverford boys XC team placed 9th in the state meet on Saturday on a beautiful fall day in Hershey. It was one of the best finishes in school history. The course was muddy and the competition fierce, but the Fords ran tough to cap off a historic season. Junior Michael Donnelly led the way, as he has all season, earning a medal with his 15th place finish. We followed the race with team-bonding fun at Hershey Park. Thank you to all of the parents and student-athletes who contributed. This was a season to remember. Reminders: 1) please turn in your uniform to Coach Clinton and pay her $5 for senior gifts, 2) the Panera fund raiser is Sunday evening, Nov. 11, 3) our HXC18 Banquet will be at Paxon Hollow Country Club on Tuesday, Nov. 13, 6:00pm (the team attends for free, guests are $25 per person, check or cash paid to Coach Clinton), and 4) be sure to check out our awesome Instagram page, managed by our captains and Social Media Master Caleb Nolan (link at bottom of page). Go Fords!

Haverford High completes championship trifecta
Congratulations to Haverford XC runners on a busy and successful week. First, on Wednesday at Coopertown, the Haverford boys finished their undefeated dual-meet season by beating Lower Merion, Marple Newtown, and Penncrest. Mike Donnelly continued his extraordinary season by winning the individual competition. The Haverford girls ran well, defeating Penncrest and Marple en route to a second place finish. We also celebrated our HXC seniors, who are wonderful and will be sorely missed. All results are HERE.
Then on Saturday, the Haverford boys varsity won the Central League Championship at Rose Tree. HXC’s top seven runners finished in the top eighteen, securing a hard-fought victory over Lower Merion. Anthony Lawson ran exceptionally well in the JV race, placing fourth. For the Haverford girls varsity, Katrina Miciek and Connie Katcavage both medaled with outstanding races. Rachel Woodman and Nina Ottaviano had great races for the JV. Thanks to Mary Campbell and all of our HXC families for making the traditional post-race feast huge and delicious and perfect. We appreciate you. Results are HERE.
Onward to the District 1-AAA Championships!
