Harry Green is the head coach for boys cross country, and leads the boys and girls distance groups in winter and spring track.

Coach Green was born and raised in Houston, TX.  He earned two degrees from the University of Texas at Austin, where he was also a seven-time (first team) All-American, won multiple conference and regional championships, was team captain in 3 sports (XC, indoor and outdoor track), and departed holding 6 school records.  He was alternate on the 1988 USA Olympic Team, was a member of 6 USA national teams, and has raced all over the world. His PR’s are 28:19 for 10K, 13:41 for 5K, and 3:44 for 1500 meters.

Coach Green is in his third year coaching at Haverford. He was previously an XC assistant as well as jumps coach in the spring. He earned his USATF Level One certification in 2016.

He is the founder and owner of Harry Green Design.  He’s also the father of a seven-year-old boy, Oliver, and is married to Hannah Turlish, the Department Chair of History at The Haverford School for Boys and a former All-American swimmer at the University of North Carolina.
